Our Impact

At Historic Shoals River District, we are committed to supporting and empowering the Shoals community. Our initiatives are divided into four sections that include design, promotion, organization, and economic vitality. Learn more about our teams and their work below.

Design Team

  • Promotes the historic character of downtown Shoals

  • Supports the transformation of downtown Shoals by enhancing physical and visual assets shaping the physical image of Main Street

  • Brainstorms aesthetic ways to revitalize our town

  • Assists in visual aids to convey ideas for future projects and proposals

Promotion Team

  • Plans and organizes events that promote local businesses and bring the community together

  • Showcases historic Shoals' unique characteristics

  • Markets and advertises to promote downtown as the center of the community and hub of economic activity

Organization Team

  • Fundraising and sponsorship planning

  • Creates a strong foundation for a sustainable revitalization effort

  • Cultivates partnerships, community involvement, and resources for the district

Economic Vitality

  • Focuses on capital, incentives, and other economic and financial tools to assist new and existing businesses within Shoals

  • Catalyzes property development through incentives and grants

  • Creates a supportive environment for entrepreneurs and innovators
